Heavenly Tantrum

Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?

And the heart of God ripped out as His Son went limp.

And the hands of God needed something to rip apart.

He grabbed the temple’s curtain and tore it in two, screaming “No more separation between Me and Mine!”

His words thundered from the sky.

His holy brow furrowed, His anger at separation and sin eclipsing the sun and turning the day dark.

His arms reached out for boulders and He held them, the clenching of His fists splitting them apart.

He grabbed at death, holding it down until it relented and released some of its prisoners from their graves.

The centurion looked on at the heavenly tantrum.

Surely we have taken God’s most precious son.
